[07-21-2026] Shasta County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Two Vehicles in Redding

A woman was killed after being struck by two vehicles while crossing Lake Boulevard in Redding on Tuesday night, July 21, 2026.

According to the Redding Police Department, officers responded to the incident at around 11:19 p.m. in the area of Lake Boulevard and Clay Street.

Authorities said the woman was crossing Lake Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk while wearing dark clothing when she was struck by a 2007 Chrysler van traveling eastbound. The van’s driver and passengers stopped and attempted to provide assistance.

While they were rendering aid, a 1977 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling eastbound on Lake Boulevard also struck the woman after the driver reportedly did not see her in the roadway.

The woman died from her injuries. Her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Police reported that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors for either driver.

The Redding Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
