PLANE CRASH STATISTICS

Although flying is faster and safer than driving or taking the train, plane crashes frequently result in fatalities or serious injuries for the passengers on board. Plane crashes are more commonly caused by equipment failure, design flaws, inadequate repair or maintenance, pilot error, or air traffic control errors than by a simple fall from the sky.

Despite the fact that plane crashes are less common than car or train accidents, they are far more common than you might think. There were over 1,500 aviation accidents in the United States alone in 2012.

According to a joint report from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration, more than one fatal aviation accident occurred every 100,000 flight hours in 2019. (FAA). In the United States, there are now three small aviation crashes daily.

Regardless of the severity of the injuries or fatalities, those who were injured or killed in a plane crash are entitled to compensation.
