Fatal Car Crash Statistics
Single-vehicle accidents kill an alarming number of people in California every year.
In California, single-vehicle crashes account for 62% of all fatal car accidents, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If you plan on driving in California, you should be aware of several potential hazards.
Several factors can lead to a single-vehicle accident. An off-the-road accident, or runaway vehicle, can occur if you drive too fast or make sharp turns on a slippery road. An object that fell from the truck’s back could be found on the roadside, such as a large branch.
Even if the single-car accident is caused by something other than your or another driver’s negligence, your insurance policy’s comprehensive coverage plan will likely limit your recovery.
