[07-24-2022] Riverside County, CA - 8-year-old Killed, 3 Children and 2 Adults Injured After Suspected DUI Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 79According to the California Highway Patrol, an 8-year-old daughter was killed in a collision that injured several other people, including three children, after a woman suspected of DUI collided her car with another vehicle on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

According to authorities, the crash happened on Sunday evening along State Route 79 near Temecula in Riverside County.

According to the CHP, the 33-year-old woman was driving a Honda Pilot in the westbound lanes when the SUV strayed right onto the dirt shoulder.

According to the statement, she attempted to pull the SUV back onto the road but overcorrected and swerved into the opposing lane, colliding with a Chevy Silverado heading east.

According to the investigators, the 8-year-old girl in the Honda was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

Officials said her mother and two other children in the Honda, a 12-year-old boy, and a 5-year-old girl, were hospitalized with serious injuries.

A 46-year-old man, a 43-year-old woman, and a 12-year-old girl were also hospitalized in the Silverado.

According to the CHP, the driver of the Honda was arrested and will face multiple charges, including felony DUI, child endangerment, and gross vehicular manslaughter.
