[07-29-2022] Fresno County, CA – Head-On Crash Killed 57-Year-Old Man and Injured a Teenager in northwest Fresno

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 57-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision involving another vehicle driven by a 15-year-old kid in northwest Fresno on Friday, July 29, 2022.

Officers said they responded to a crash call shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Fruit Avenue, south of Tenaya Way.

When police arrived, they discovered the Fresno man in his Toyota Scion, suffering from serious injuries after he drifted into the path of a Nissan Altima driven by a teenager and collided.

According to the emergency personnel, the Toyota driver died at the scene, while the Nissan driver was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The Toyota driver was not wearing his seatbelt during the crash.

It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

The case remains under investigation.
