[07-30-2022] Santa Barbara County, CA- 42-year-old Pedestrian Killed after being Struck by DUI Driver in LompocAccording to the Lompoc Police Department, a driver under the influence of alcohol struck and killed a 42-year-old pedestrian early Saturday morning, July 30, 2022.

According to the officers, the incident happened at 600 block of West Ocean Ave., where they discovered a 42-year-old woman on the side of the road.

Authorities said she appeared to have been hit by a car and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Police also reported that the suspected driver was found nearby and was driving under the influence.

According to the police department, the driver was arrested for two suspected felonies, including DUI alcohol: causing bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

There is an ongoing investigation into the said incident.
