[07-30-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – Four People Hospitalized After Reckless Two-Vehicle Crash in Fontana

Four people were hospitalized after a reckless two-vehicle crash in Fontana early Sunday morning, July 30, 2023.

According to the Fontana Police Department, the crash happened around 2:13 a.m. between Catawba Avenue and Slover Avenue.

A white Toyota Camry and a white Dodge Charger were involved in a street race. The vehicles were speeding along Catawba Avenue when both crashed into the central divider of the intersection. The Camry reportedly crashed into other parked vehicles afterward.

The 19-year-old Camry driver named Fernando G. and an unknown minor passenger were detained, while the other vehicle’s driver, an 18-year-old named Evan C., and another minor passenger were also caught trying to flee the scene.

All four were transported to a local hospital. The minor passengers were released back with their parents, while both drivers were taken to the West Valley Detention Center.

The authorities have not released further information about the crash.
