[07-31-2023] Santa Clara County, CA – Student Died in San Jose After Being Found Floating in Elementary School Swimming Pool

A student died after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool on an elementary school campus in San Jose on Monday, July 31, 2023.

According to the San Jose Police Department, the accident happened at Harker School, a K-12 college prep school, in the 4300 block of Bucknall Road at an unspecified time.

It was reported that the student was seen floating and unresponsive in a pool on the lower school campus serving kindergarten through 5th-grade students. Before the arrival of paramedics, the school nurse and lifeguard provided CPR to the patient.

The student was taken to a local hospital for treatment in critical condition. By Wednesday, the juvenile did not survive.
