[07-31-2023] One Person Died, Another One Sustained Severe Injuries After Single-Vehicle Collision in FairfieldA passenger died while the driver suffered severe injuries after a single vehicle crashed in Fairfield on Monday afternoon, July 31, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported at 4:10 p.m. near Rockville and Russell roads, west of Fairfield.

Based on the report, the gray Hyundai Elantra struck a pole, injuring its two occupants. The driver suffered major injuries, while the passenger sustained life-threatening injuries.

Unfortunately, the passenger was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Their identities remain unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
