[08-01-2023] At Least 1 Person Injured Following Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 101At least one person was injured after a multi-vehicle collision in Santa Barbara on Tuesday afternoon, August 1, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on the southbound lanes of Highway 101 near the State Street offramp shortly before 2:30 p.m.

The incident involved four vehicles. It is unclear what caused the collision or what events led up to it, pending an investigation.

A female driver was reportedly injured after being rear-ended by another speeding vehicle. However, it could not be confirmed if the other vehicle was actually speeding.

The victim was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by way of AMR ambulance.
