The female driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious head and foot injuries.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. in Pt. Loma, which is located near the airport.

According to the initial investigation, one of the drivers did not yield at a red light.
