Two people were hospitalized after a single vehicle crashed into a power pole in Carmichael, Sacramento County, on Wednesday morning, August 2, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on El Camino and Walnut Avenue at around 1:45 a.m.
A pickup truck was reported to have crashed into a power pole, causing the vehicle to wrap around the pole. The CHP personnel took 45 minutes to rescue a woman from the wreckage. A male passenger was in the truck, although it is unclear whether they were also trapped in the wreckage.
Major injuries were sustained by the woman, who was treated at a local hospital. The male passenger was also hospitalized after sustaining major injuries.
Speed was believed to have been a factor in the crash.
No information was released regarding the identities of the two people involved.
