Three people were injured after a fiery crash involving a single vehicle in Pomona on Friday morning, August 4, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported due to several 911 calls notifying them about the collision on the eastbound 60 Freeway before the 71 Freeway.
Upon arrival, officers and firefighters discovered an overturned vehicle engulfed in flames in the carpool lane.
Fortunately, all occupants managed to exit the vehicle safely. However, there were injured parties promptly taken to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries remains uncertain.
The cause of the crash remains unknown, and the CHP has closed the carpool and fast lanes for an undetermined duration.
The investigation is ongoing.
