One person was injured after a collision between a sedan and a semi-truck in Hesperia on Sunday afternoon, August 6, 2023.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department said the incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. on Mariposa Road, on the curve between Mesa and Eucalyptus Streets.
According to the report, the sedan was traveling north on Mariposa Road when it briefly veered onto the right dirt shoulder and then swerved back across traffic directly into the path of the oncoming semi traveling in the opposite direction.
Unfortunately, the semi-driver could not avoid the collision and impacted the passenger side of the black Audi sedan.
The injured occupant was first taken by ambulance to Desert Valley Hospital and later airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The semi-driver remained uninjured. The male passenger in the sedan was reported to be in critical condition during transportation, and an update on his condition was not immediately available.
The official cause of the accident is under investigation by the Hesperia Police Department.
