According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, two people were injured in a traffic accident on Highway 101 on Sunday, August 07, 2022.
According to fire captain Scott Safechuck, emergency responders, including firefighters, were called to the crash scene immediately after 3:00 a.m. near the El Sueno Road northbound freeway offramp.
The right-hand lane was blocked due to the white sedan’s collision with the tree. One of the passengers had moderate injuries, while the driver was seriously injured.
The victims had to be moderately extricated from the wreckage.
Both were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by AMR ambulance.
There was no information about their names or injuries.
The freeway’s slow lane was closed for approximately an hour to clear the damage and debris.
The crash is to be further investigated.
