[08-11-2022] Orange County, CA - A 60-year-old Man was Killed and One Injured in a Hit-and-Run AccidentA 60-year-old man died and his 60-year-old wife suffered minor wounds after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run accident in Laguna Beach on Thursday evening.

The accident happened at 9:30 p.m. in a crosswalk in South California.

Unfortunately, the man passed away, and they took his wife to the hospital for possible treatment for minor wounds. She was later released last Thursday.

The driver involved was Sysillia Morrison O. of Costa Mesa, an 18-year-old driver of a 2005–2010 Volkswagen sedan that was likely to have front-end damage.

According to police Lt. Cornelius A., last Friday, the driver surrendered.
She was charged with felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.

On Sunday, she was released after paying bail of $100,000. It was unknown if she had a lawyer.

According to a report from the Orange County Register on Saturday, police discovered a silver 2009 Volkswagen Jetta in a garage in Aliso Viejo and impounded the sedan for evidence.
