[08-11-2023] 2 People Injured After Drunk Driver Crashed Into Mudpuppy's Tub & ScrubTwo people were injured after a drunk driver crashed into a dog wash and groomer, Mudpuppy’s Tub & Scrub, in San Francisco on Friday evening, August 11, 2023.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident started at 568 Castro Street and ended on the 2300 block of Market Street around 7:50 p.m.

A Toyota Prius driven by 37-year-old Hector O. of San Francisco collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle and a building, damaging both. Officers attempted to communicate with the driver, but he continued driving and stopped at 2300 Market Street, where he was detained.

The passenger of the Prius sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident and was treated and released at the scene. Hector was also injured but transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, no one else was harmed.

Upon his arrest on Sunday at 8:45 a.m., Hector was booked into San Francisco County Jail #1 and is being held without bail. The charges include felony DUI with injury, misdemeanor DUI, felony hit-and-run, reckless driving, driving without a license, and driving left of center.

No information was released regarding the victim’s identity.
