[08-14-2023] San Diego County, CA – 46-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run Collision on National Street

A 46-year-old male pedestrian was hospitalized following a hit-and-run collision in a southwest neighborhood of San Diego on Monday evening, August 14, 2023.

According to San Diego Police Department officer Robert H., the incident occurred in the 3700 block of National Street at around 10:08 p.m.

As the pedestrian crossed south on National, a 2020 GMC Sierra struck him in the westbound lane. The GMC then veered to the left and crashed into a wall. The suspect drove away from the scene, and the truck was recovered in the 3600 block of Logan Avenue.

In addition to sustaining multiple fractures, the pedestrian also suffered a collapsed lung.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in this incident.

No information was released regarding the victim’s identity pending an investigation.
