[08-16-2022] Orange County, CA – 23-Month-Old Toddler Fatally Struck by Amazon Delivery Van in Irvine

According to authorities, an Amazon delivery van ran over and killed a 23-month-old girl in Irvine on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

According to the Irvine Police Department, the collision happened around 3:30 p.m. in an apartment complex in the 300 block of Estancia.

According to preliminary evidence, a child and an Amazon van collided in the parking lot. A third-party contractor operated the van.

Police said that although officers and Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded, the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police had not yet identified the child.

Police reported Tuesday night that although the cause of the collision is still being looked into, drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
