[08-17-2023] Kern County, CA – 13-Year-Old Boy Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in Bakersfield

A 13-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Thursday afternoon, August 17, 2023.

The Bakersfield Police Department responded to the accident around 4:00 p.m. near Liberty Park at the intersection of Jewetta Avenue and Brimhall Road

The boy was crossing Brimhall Road when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. An ambulance took him to a local hospital, where he was in critical condition. The current state of his health has not been reported.

Police were able to work with the female driver since she remained at the scene.

The identities of all those involved were not released.

The investigation is ongoing.
