[08-18-2022] Fresno County, CA - Unidentified Pedestrian Man Struck and Killed on Rose AvenueAccording to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian man walking the roadway was struck and killed by a vehicle near Selma on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

The crash transpired around 9:50 p.m. on the 11000 block of Rose Avenue near Selma.

Unofficial identification of the man struck by the passing car is still pending. He was not wearing a sidewalk shoe, and it is unclear where he was coming from or going.

Officer Anthony Simonian of the CHP claims that the area is very dark. If you are a pedestrian, you must stay off the road and be aware that it is very dark and difficult to see outside.

According to investigators, the car driver that ran over the pedestrian is helping. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in this collision.

Investigations into the collision are still ongoing.
