A 17-year-old boy identified as Matthew L. was killed in a hit-and-run accident after an argument at a party in South Los Angeles on Sunday, August 21, 2022.
According to Detective Jerry Gibson of the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. at a warehouse parking lot on 62nd Street between Avalon Boulevard and Central Avenue.
According to Gibson, a fight broke out between a partygoer group and a person in a car.
The debate then spilled out onto the sidewalk.
When the driver turned toward the crowd at that point, Lobos was run over and killed.
According to reports, the driver fled from a white Acura, hopped into another car, possibly an SUV, and struck Lobos once more.
According to reports, Lobos’ body was dumped in the street.
According to the police, nearly 100 people attended the illegal party.
The detectives are hoping that the nearby security cameras will help them make an arrest.
Family members claimed Lobos, who was described as wise beyond his years, was not a gang member, but detectives are looking into whether the suspects may be.
