[08-21-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - 70-Year-Old Woman Killed After a Hit-and-Run Driver Struck Her Vehicle in FontanaA 70-year-old Barbara C., Fontana School Board’s former member, who ignored the red light to flee from a hit-and-run accident in Fontana on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

The crash happened at around 2:47 p.m. on Foothill Boulevard.

According to Fontana Public Information Officer Jason Delair, Barbara was driving a Honda sedan when she was struck by a Mercedes SUV fleeing a hit-and-run accident in Rialto.

The Mercedes collided with the Honda when it ran the westbound red light while Barbara was traveling south on Maple Avenue.

Barbara was declared dead on the scene.

Delair said that the Mercedes’ driver had been arrested.
