A suspected DUI driver is in custody after a deadly crash that killed one person and injured another in Kings County on Saturday morning, August 26, 2022.
California Highway Patrol officers went to the scene just after 4:30 a.m. near 14th and Iona avenues.
Investigators report that a 31-year-old man moved over to the wrong side of the road while driving a Chevy Silverado on 14th Avenue. He collided head-on with another vehicle.
The female passenger of the car died at the scene.
Her driver was airlifted to the hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
The Silverado driver sustained minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The accident is to be further investigated.
