[08-28-2025] Santa Clara County, CA โ€“ Two People Severely Injured in Crash Outside San Jose Nightclubs Ahead of Pride Celebrations

Two people were severely injured when their car crashed into pedestrian barriers outside two nightclubs in downtown San Jose on Thursday night, August 28, 2025.

San Jose police responded to the crash at 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Post Street. A white Lexus first struck barriers outside Splash San Jose at 65 Post Street before heading toward Macโ€™s Club at 39 Post Street, where it came to a stop. The crash occurred just ahead of the cityโ€™s Pride celebrations, which were set to begin the following day.

Witnesses reported that the driver had been denied entry into Splash San Jose due to his intoxication. After speaking with staff, he returned to his vehicle and drove through the barriers.

Footage from the scene showed the passenger lying in the street while the driver remained seated in the car. Both the driver and the passenger were transported to the hospital with severe injuries.

San Jose police stated that both individuals were heavily intoxicated but confirmed there is no evidence to suggest the crash was intentional. The incident is being investigated as a DUI-related collision.

No one else at the scene was injured, and authorities continue to investigate.
