A 42-year-old man from Dana Point was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Cathedral City, authorities Sunday, September 4, 2022.
The crash occurred before 8:00 a.m. at Date Palm Drive south of Varner Road.
Police and fire crews from Cathedral City went to the crash scene, where they found Jason P. dead.
Authorities say the accident happened when Paige drove north on Date Palm Drive and crossed over into the southbound lanes.
At the time, two cars were going south. The first car could move out of the way, but the second car, also going south, didn’t have enough time and hit the first car head-on, authorities said.
According to authorities, the other car had two people in it, and both of them were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
