According to deputies, a woman was killed after a suspected DUI crash in Stockton on Monday morning, September 5, 2022.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 4:30 a.m. at the Country Club Boulevard on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5.
A car went down an embankment about 40 feet at the Country Club Boulevard on-ramp.
According to CHP, the vehicle from which the passenger was ejected then struck them.
According to police, the car was traveling at high speed when the collision occurred, and a passenger was ejected.
However, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, they also received a call at that time from a woman reporting that she was attempting to transport a friend who had been shot to the hospital.
According to the police, the passenger was taken to the hospital by medics but later passed away from her injuries. Her identity has not been disclosed.
The car driver was detained on suspicion of DUI. According to CHP, she didn’t seem to have been hurt in the collision.
According to deputies, the shooting occurred close to Plymouth Road and Bristol Avenue.
No information regarding suspects has been made public at this stage of the investigation.
