[09-07-2026] Marin County, CA – 18-Year-Old Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle in San Rafael

An 18-year-old pedestrian suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle in San Rafael on Monday night, September 7, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. at Point San Pedro Road and Marina Boulevard.

CHP said the pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound Honda sedan. The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to MarinHealth Medical Center. An update on his condition was not immediately available.

The driver was not injured and remained at the scene. CHP identified him as Alistair T., 30, of San Carlos.

The driver was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, causing injury. He was no longer in custody as of Thursday.

The CHP continues to investigate the incident.
