Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics
Multi-vehicle accidents are a serious problem on today’s roads. They often involve a chain reaction of collisions, resulting in serious injuries and even fatalities. According to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were nearly 6,000 multi-vehicle accidents in the United States in 2016. This figure represents a significant increase from previous years, and experts believe the trend will likely continue.
In most cases, multi-vehicle accidents are caused by one or more drivers who fail to notice the presence of other vehicles. For example, a driver may attempt to change lanes without seeing that another vehicle is already in that lane. Or, a driver may merge onto the highway without checking for other cars.
These types of errors can easily lead to a multi-vehicle accident. To avoid such accidents, it is important to always be aware of the presence of other vehicles. If you see another car in your blind spot, do not attempt to change lanes until it is safe to do so. And when merging onto the highway, be sure to look for other cars before pulling into traffic. By following these simple rules, you can help prevent multi-vehicle accidents from happening.
