At least one person was critically injured after being ejected in a two-vehicle rollover collision on the southbound I-15 freeway in the Cajon Pass Sunday, September 11, 2022.
The collision occurred at 12:33 p.m., involving a black GMC pickup truck and a black Range Rover north of Highway 138, near the escape ramp.
The Range Rover lost control for reasons that are still being looked into. It flipped over several times before stopping on a dirt slope on the right shoulder. Callers said a person might have been thrown out and lying on their side.
When San Bernardino County Fire came to the scene, they said they had two patients. One had severe injuries, and the other had less serious ones. Both were taken to nearby hospitals by ground ambulances.
The California Highway Patrol is doing the investigation.
Two-Vehicle Crash Statistics
In California, car accidents almost always lead to personal injury and wrongful death claims. Even though the shares look like they have a lot in common, each has its own story. An attorney in California who specializes in cases involving car accidents should do a lot of research on each of these crashes.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that 5 and 6 million car accidents happen annually in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that three million people are hurt in car accidents yearly in the United States.
In 2017, 3,304 people died in car accidents in California, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Two cars are more likely to crash into each other when drivers do risky things like drink and drive, drive too fast, or drive while distracted.
