[09-12-2022] Hit-And-Run Crash Injured Multiple People in HesperiaAccording to the authorities, several people were displaced and injured after a pursuit suspect lost control and crashed into a house in Hesperia Monday night, September 12, 2022.

According to Sergeant R. Rios, the crash occurred at about 6:42 p.m. on Madera Avenue and Danbury Avenue.

Officials said that the Sergeant saw a white Chevrolet truck speed away after hitting a power pole. Rose R., 23, a Hesperia resident, drove fast east on Danbury Avenue and north on Peach Street.

Sgt. Rios activated his lights and sirens, but Ruffin refused to stop, driving 85mph through residential neighborhoods.

Ruffin drove 2.1 miles while ignoring stop signs and public safety. Ruffin ran a stop sign and hit a Devon Street home. The truck landed in the kitchen, injuring a resident. On-scene treatment was given.

Ruffin fled on foot, leading deputies through residential yards before entering a home and hiding in the bathroom.

She was arrested after a short standoff in the bathroom after she endangered many lives. Ruffin is being held at High Desert without bail.

The Red Cross helped three adults and some dogs and cats.
