[09-14-2022] Four People Injured After Suspected Drunk Driver Crashed into Home in SW BakersfieldAccording to California Highway Patrol, three people were injured, among them a toddler, after a suspected drunk driver struck a home along Taft Highway early on Wednesday morning, September 14, 2022.

According to CHP, the crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. at a house at Old River Road and Taft Highway.

According to CHP, fire crews from County Fire Station 53 were able to put out the fire, and every resident of the house was able to leave.

A 21-month-old baby was seriously hurt in the collision, which caused the home to catch fire.

The 26-year-old driver of the car, Madison W., was charged with felony driving under the influence and booked into the Kern County Jail after suffering only minor injuries in the collision. Williams has a Friday court date.

According to family members, the ceiling fell on Princedeep J., 25, his wife Rajwinder J., 25, their father Balwinder J., 61, and 21-month-old Rohundeep J. inside the vehicle, injuring them all.

Suman J., Princedeep’s sister, told local news that the 21-month-old was being treated at a children’s hospital for internal injuries in addition to a fractured skull and broken arm.
Balwinder was reported to have gotten everyone else out of the house after being released from the hospital earlier on Wednesday.
