[09-24-2022] One-Year-Old Girl Killed in Fatal DUI Hit-and-Run Crash in Castle NeighborhoodAccording to authorities, a one-year-old girl was killed after being struck by a driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol in a hit-and-run accident in San Diego’s Castle neighborhood on Saturday, September 24, 2022.

The young child was struck at around 6:45 p.m. in the 3900 block of Redwood Street.

According to the San Diego Police Department, she was struck by a 1999 Toyota 4Runner that was being operated by a 45-year-old man.

The youngster was taken to the hospital after suffering head injuries but died there, according to the police.

The driver was apprehended by police in the Mid-City neighborhood on suspicion of felony drunk driving and hit-and-run after a witness to the collision provided license plate information.
