Motorcycle Collision Statistics
Motorcycle accidents are one of the main sources of injury and death in California and around the country. Riverside, the most populated city in Southern California’s Inland Empire region, sadly witnesses hundreds of collisions each year.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s latest report, there were 42,915 motorcycle crash deaths in 2021, a 10.5% increase over 2020. This was the largest year-to-year rise in fatalities in the Fatality Analysis Reporting System’s history.
This increase might be attributed partly to fewer drivers during the onset of the pandemic. People may have begun to drive more in 2021, and motorcycle accident fatalities may have soared in the same year.
