[10-06-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Two-Vehicle Collision Knocks Fire Hydrant Over on LA Street

A two-vehicle collision knocked a fire hydrant over in Los Angeles on Friday morning, October 6, 2023.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred in the 500 block of South Los Angeles Street at around 12:35 a.m.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene and found the red Porsche and the blue Chrysler SUV that had crashed, knocking over a fire hydrant.

This created a three-story geyser, resulting in a possible flooding issue in the nearby six-story building. Firefighters were able to stop the water from gushing out of the broken fire hydrant.

No visible injuries were reported at the time of the collision. It is unclear exactly how many were involved in the incident. No further details were released.

An investigation is being conducted to determine what caused the crash and what events led up to it.
