[10-07-2022] One Pedestrian Killed After Getting Struck by El Segundo Police Vehicle on Pacific Coast HighwayAccording to the authorities, a man was killed after being hit by a police car in El Segundo on Friday, October 7, 2022.

The crash occurred just before 9:55 p.m. south of El Segundo Boulevard.

According to Lt. Ryan Danowitz, the car was reportedly traveling southbound on Pacific Coast Highway while the man was crossing the street south of El Segundo Boulevard.

According to Patton, the man was declared dead at the scene. The pedestrian’s full identity was not immediately known.

It is still unknown what caused the crash.

According to Danowitz, the California Highway Patrol has taken control of the investigation.

Officer Peter Nicholson of the CHP acknowledged that the agency received a call to the crash site around 11:05 p.m. but had no further information.
