[10-19-2023] Stanislaus County, CA – 44-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Big-Rig Hit-And-Run Collision in Ceres

A 44-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a tractor-trailer in a hit-and-run collision in Ceres early Thursday morning, October 19, 2023.

According to the Ceres Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 3:10 a.m. in the 1400 block of Hatch Road.

The male pedestrian was reportedly struck by a red tractor-trailer with a gray or silver box, which shortly fled the scene. He was found with serious injuries on the eastbound lane, but later died at the scene.

The victim’s name was withheld until the family was notified. Reports indicate the driver stopped after the crash and stepped out to check the victim, before fleeing the scene.

The cause of the collision has not yet been determined as authorities continue to track the driver. Those with information about the crash are urged to contact them.
