According to the Santa Barbara County Firefighters, a vehicle driving recklessly slammed into a thrift store, injuring two employees inside the building in Goleta Saturday afternoon, October 29, 2022.
According to the county fire spokesman Mike Eliason, the crash occurred at 2:20 p.m. on the 5100 block of Hollister Avenue.
The United Family Association Thrift Shoppe was hit by the car. According to Eliason, two workers sustained minor injuries and were transported to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital for care.
According to him, the female driver was unharmed.
After at least one large window was smashed, plans were made to secure the store by installing plywood.
Eliason added that building inspectors had been called to the scene to evaluate the damage to the building.
There has been no determination yet on what led to the crash.
