A motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving an SUV on North Melrose Drive in Vista on Wednesday evening, October 29, 2025.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7 p.m. to the 500 block of North Melrose Drive after reports of a motorcycle colliding with an SUV, causing the rider to be ejected.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on North Melrose Drive when an SUV merged onto the road heading westbound toward Dove Circle. The motorcyclist attempted to avoid the collision but was ejected from the motorcycle, landing along the west curb line of the southbound lanes.
Deputies administered medical assistance until paramedics arrived, but despite life-saving efforts, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
