[11-03-2023] San Francisco County, CA – Three People Injured After Pursuit Led to Multi-Vehicle Near Bay Bridge

Three people were injured after a pursuit led to a multi-vehicle collision in San Francisco late Friday night, November 3, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Folsom Street and 11th Street near Bay Bridge.

Reports indicate that authorities pursued a silver sedan westbound as it exited 9th Street before colliding with two other vehicles at the intersection, including a Waymo robotaxi with passengers.

Two pedestrians were struck by the suspect’s car during the crash. The victims sustained minor to major injuries and were transported to a local hospital. A passenger in one of the involved vehicles was also hit but declined medical treatment.

Waymo passengers sustained no visible injuries, but the pursuit driver suffered injuries and was hospitalized.

Further information regarding the cause of the crash is pending, and investigations are ongoing.
