[11-04-2023] Monterey County, CA – At Least One Person Injured Following DUI Hit-And-Run Crash in Marina

At least one person was injured after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Marina on Saturday night, November 04, 2023.

According to the Marina Police Department, the collision occurred around 10:40 p.m. in the area of Imjin Parkway and Preston Drive.

Reports indicate a silver Toyota 4-Runner SUV driver sustained minor injuries after both tires on the driver’s side of the vehicle sheared off. The victim was treated at the scene.

The Red Dodge Durango driver, identified as Arturo P., reportedly fled the scene on foot. Around 12:40 a.m., authorities spotted the driver along the parkway and began chasing him, but the suspect escaped.

Around 1 a.m., another officer spotted him on Lexington Court and established a perimeter. After being arrested, his blood alcohol content was found to be over 0.08%.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was later booked into the Monterey County Jail on multiple charges, including felony hit-and-run, probation violation, and DUI.
