DUI Accident Statistics

Driving under the influence is extremely dangerous for everyone on the road and foot. This is why all 50 states have such stringent laws against drunk driving (driving under the influence).

Driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol raises the probability of getting into an accident by a large margin.

Every year, almost 10,000 people lose their lives as a direct result of drunk driving, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. However, substance abuse is a factor in about 18% of fatal car accidents.

More than 2,000 people per year are killed, and 30,000 are injured in California because of drunk driving. Underage drivers and drivers of different vehicles have different legal definitions of driving under the influence and driving while impaired.

According to research, there were 45 fatal accidents in Fresno County in 2016. 69 vehicles were involved in those accidents, 96 people were killed, and 25 people were injured as a result.

The roads are dangerous places where even the most cautious drivers can cause catastrophic harm. Avoid accidents by always looking ahead, driving carefully, and keeping your car in good working order.
