[11-12-2022] Los Angeles County, CA - Multi-Vehicle Crash Caused by Wrong-Way Driver Leads to Multiple Injuries on 710 FreewayThe California Highway Patrol reported multiple injuries following a multi-vehicle collision in South Gate on Saturday early morning, November 12, 2022.

According to the CHP South Los Angeles Station, they received calls of a crash at 2:15 a.m. on the 710 Freeway near Imperial Highway, while additional calls mentioned Alondra Boulevard.

The multi-vehicle collision involved a black SUV by a wrong-way driver traveling south in the northbound lanes of 710. The CHP and Compton Fire Department arrived on the scene to find three cars involved.

Reports revealed multiple victims, including the wrong-way driver and two trapped people. They were taken to the hospital, but no information on their condition was released.

To remove the driver from the SUV, firefighters chopped the door off with the Jaws of Life.

All of the 710 Freeway’s northbound lanes were blocked off at Alondra Boulevard by CHP.

Authorities conducted further investigation into the cause of the collision.
