[11-16-2022] Imperial County, CA – One Person Injured in Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Accident in El Centro

Authorities said a pedestrian was injured and hospitalized after getting struck by a vehicle in El Centro on Wednesday evening, November 16, 2022.

According to the El Centro Police Department, the crash occurred at 6:30 p.m. in the area of Imperial Avenue and Woodward Avenue.

The report said a man sustained major injuries after the vehicle hit him. He was taken to a hospital outside of the Valley for treatment.

For many hours, the traffic around the area was backed up.

It was unclear whether alcohol or drugs was a factor in the collision.

There were no additional details released as the investigation continued.
