[11-16-2024] San Mateo County, CA – Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck by Driver on Holly Street in San Carlos

A 31-year-old bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle in San Carlos, San Mateo County, on Saturday morning, November 16, 2024.

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 10:15 a.m. on Holly Street near the U.S. Highway 101 overpass.

Deputies found the woman with life-threatening injuries, and she was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The victim was identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office as Andrea V. of Palo Alto.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the case.
