[11-14-2024] Orange County, CA – Construction Worker Killed, Another Hospitalized in Accident at Villa Park High School Gym

A construction worker was killed, and another was hospitalized after an accident at Villa Park High School in Orange County, on Thursday morning, November 14, 2024.

According to the school district, the incident occurred in a construction zone inside the gym. The two workers were part of a renovation project that included new bleachers and floorwork. Neither worker has been identified.

The Orange County Fire Authority and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at around 10:21 a.m. One worker was transported to a local trauma center, and the other was pronounced dead at the scene.

The school district confirmed that no students or staff were hurt, and there is no current danger to the campus or the surrounding community. The renovation project was underway in the gym, which included the installation of new bleachers and air conditioners.
