[11-18-2022] Two-Vehicle Crash in Nuevo Kills One, Injures AnotherOne driver was killed and another severely injured after a two-vehicle crash in Nuevo on Friday afternoon, November 18, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at about 5:25 p.m. just west of Lakeview Avenue on the Ramona Expressway.

Officials reported that a Ford SUV and a Nissan sedan appeared to have collided in the eastbound lanes.

The Nissan swerved into the center divider, eventually trapping the driver.

Responders immediately arrived at the scene and removed the victim from the Nissan sedan. Despite their best efforts, the driver was confirmed dead just before 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, the SUV driver sustained unspecified minor to moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

CHP officers closed both sides of the expressway while they conducted a preliminary investigation and cleared debris.
