[11-18-2022] 85-Year-Old Woman Killed in Head-On Collision in Lake MurrayAuthorities said an 85-year-old woman was killed following a head-on collision in San Diego late Friday afternoon, November 18, 2022.

According to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred at 5:21 p.m. in the 9000 block of Mission Gorge Road in the Lake Murray neighborhood.

The elderly victim was traveling west on Mission Gorge on a 2018 Toyota Corolla when she collided head-on with a 70-year-old woman heading east on a 2021 Toyota Venza. No information on her identity was released.

The Corolla driver was transported to the hospital, where she was later declared dead. The Venza driver was also taken to the hospital for complaints of pain in her chest, neck, and back. No details on her condition were released.

According to the police, they have no reason to believe that the Corolla driver was using drugs or alcohol while driving the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to call the authorities.
