[11-19-2022] Two People Killed by Train in Elk GroveAuthorities said two people were killed after getting struck by a train in Elk Grove on Saturday morning, November 19, 2022.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department, the crash occurred around 1:00 a.m. at the crossing of Elk Grove Boulevard and Railroad Street.

The two victims were identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as 37-year-old Duane L. and 25-year-old Mariah G.

The Union Pacific Police will lead the investigation since the collision transpired on railroad property.

The Elk Grove Police said this is usual protocol, and they will be informed by the Union Pacific Police at every stage of the investigation.
