[11-19-2023] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Injured Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Hillcrest

A pedestrian was injured following a two-vehicle crash in Hillcrest, San Diego, on Sunday evening, November 19, 2023.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash happened around 8:41 p.m. in the 1000 block of University Avenue.

The victim was reportedly struck by a silver 2011 Mercedes-Benz E350, which was driven by a 35-year-old man.

The driver exited his vehicle and left the pedestrian with serious head injuries, but a witness cited that he came back to the scene only to run away again. He was chased by the witness, who walked him back.

The unidentified victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for a skull fracture and a brain bleed. The driver was arrested for suspected felony hit and run and driving under the influence.

The authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the collision.
